Snazzy NEW Substack Title, Same Sassy Content
"The Autlaw's Substack" is now "The Autlaw Talks Back", but the content will mostly stay the same
image by The Autlaw's sonAuthor’s Note: I apologize for sending this twice, but this version is different. I originally sent this post out yesterday, but I changed the name because, as my kid pointed out, the way it looked on the page made it seem like I supported Autism Speaks.
I assure you, I do not.
So I changed it. For the autistic folks who follow me, I know that change is hard, but I hope over time, you will come to like it as much as I do.
Yes, I’ve rebranded my autism advocacy Substack account! Due to my launch of a new Substack publication called Deep Fried Sci-Fi, I wanted a fresh start for my main Substack as well.
The new name for my autism advocacy Substack is now The Autlaw Talks Back. This title has a rebellious and defiant streak that sits well with me. It connotes a counterpoint to Autism Speaks.
It also makes me think of The Empire Strikes Back as much as it is a clapback to that hate organization.
Either way, I like it.
The name is not all that will change, though. Going forward, on this account, I want to share more in-depth, sharply focused personal stories along with the longer-form content (I post shorter content on Medium) that I have been posting.
There will be fewer posts on this Substack about media unless they directly pertain to autism and/or feature autistic writers, authors, actors, directors, and topics.
I may also include autistic-coded characters or autistic themes from media; however, for the most part, most media-related articles will be moved to Deep Fried Sci-Fi as it will include articles, not just on Science Fiction, but Fantasy, Geek culture, and even commentary on general films and television shows.
It is a revival of my old blog on WordPress, but it has expanded in its scope. I hope you check it out. I hope you enjoy my new focus on this Substack as well.
So, if those sound like topics you might be interested in reading, please also follow me on that publication. I may even have some guest writers and perhaps, eventually, I may open it up to submissions. Not right away, mind you, as my life is too crazy right now.
However, if we are lucky, I may be able to get my spouse to post a few things over there as well.
Before I go, let me remind you to bookmark the new The Autlaw Talks Back subdomain if you already have the old subdomain bookmarked. Thanks for following and reading, and as always: Just keep Stimming, just keep stimming!
